Finished and Sold!

I did get my little spool quilt done in time for the quilt show and it sold!  I was tempted to buy it myself but I did resist.
The quilting design I decided to attempt was the Baptist Fan and it didn't turn out too bad.
Here it is at the quilt show ready for bidders.
I know it is hard to see but at least you get the idea.

Now on to my next project....

Cheers!

Just Spoolin' Around

Just Spoolin' Around is the name of our guild's quilt show and at the last minute I decided to make a little spool quilt for the silent auction.  I used Bonnie Hunter's spoolin' around pattern to make the little 3" spools and they were such fun to make I know I will make this pattern again once I have more time.

I used scraps from my Easy Street quilt because I just love those colors and they hadn't made it back into my stash closet.  I have to get the quilt quilted though and as usual thinking about what to quilt is always the question.  Do I just simply meander or should I try something like the Baptist Fan?  Well I have to make my decision quickly because it has to get done this weekend!

Interested in attending a lovely quilt show and are in the Mansfield, Ohio area?  Join the Mansfield Millennium Quilters for their quilt show on July 20 and 21st at the Richland County Fairgrounds.

Cheers!

Cat in the Cabin

Awhile back I had a post on some of my cat rescue group friends that wanted to make a quilt.  We had selected the pattern Jazz cats and I made up a few samples.  It is a darling pattern but we decided it might be a bit too difficult for beginners and searched for another pattern.  Eventually we settled on a log cabin with a cat center and wanted to do it in brights with the cats being "cat" colors.  Here is my first block with your basic black cat--everyone has to have at least one black cat or at least they should:)

I am still working on Temple Guardians and the good news is it is quilted--yippee!  Today I am putting the binding on while I watch a PBS mini-series which will be a purrfect thing to do while binding.

Cheers!
